About The Coffee Urn Café

The Coffee Urn Café is one of the few remaining locally owned and operated coffee shops in the Fort Worth area.  Founded in 1995 by Sherry Rice, the shop was originally located by Texas Christian University.  Upon her retirement, Ms. Rice sold the Café to Jeff Hakul who moved the shop to it's present location at 5018 Trail Lake Drive.  Since 2007 Ed Elliott carries on The Coffee Urn Café tradition of serving great food and coffee to satisfied customers.

Despite the onslaught of national chain coffee shops The Coffee Urn Café continues to thrive.  We think it is the result of excellent food and personal service.

Our espresso beans are imported from Africa and supplied to limited number of North Texas locations, one being The Coffee Urn Café.

We have a special recipe for our famous chicken salad and our own version of the Philly Steak sandwich.  Our unique bacon is twice cured.

The Vikingo scrambled eggs are named after a Fort Worth Symphony violin player who frequently requested his eggs prepared this way.
